Witches Brew

There's a bit of a story behind this one, drag up a chair and I'll tell you all about it....

I live in the strangest household known to man. There is very seldom a time when one of us isn't awake and working, my kettle never cools and the dogs have to retire to the bathroom to get any peace. The worst culprit is my husband, he has always got by on a few hours sleep. I would like to say he's sweet tempered despite this, but I'd be lying.... He seems to sleep deeply for an hour or two after he drops off, but that's it, if I so much as sneeze he's wide awake and just can't drop off again.

He's lived this way for years, but when 'Hogglewick' was in it's infancy his workload shot up. It was the last thing he thought of before sleep, and the first on waking. He tossed and turned and woke up feeling drained. It went on for weeks until I finally became a bit concerned for his health and started doing some research. Doctors and pills were on offer, sleep clinics and counselling, but I wanted something purely natural. Aromatherapy seemed to fit the bill nicely, so I did yet more research and started mixing up a few recipes, some from books, some of my own.

We went through quite a few before one morning he woke up actually feeling a bit better. I studied the recipe I had used and made a few adjustments, probably just luck, but hey, it's worth another shot. I have to say the results were astonishing. We both woke up feeling refreshed and ready to go. My husband was more surprised than me, he had slept a full 7 hours - he has never achieved that in his life! But was it a fluke? Sheer coincidence? I tried the same recipe that night and we both woke up full of the joys of spring. My husband had woken up during the night, but miraculously, he'd dropped off again and had another 6 hours tucked under his belt.

We use this recipe nearly every night now, and if for some reason I forget to put the oil warmer on, we both notice the difference in the morning. I still have problems with an over-active mind, and I wouldn't say this knocks you out, but what it does seem to do is give you quality sleep and you wake up feeling refreshed. My husband was so impressed he started calling me 'the Witch' and my concoction soon became known as the 'Witches Brew'.

I make it up in much larger batches now and its available from the Hogglewick store. I'm pretty damn impressed with it, but you'll have to make up your own mind.... BUY WITCHES BREW
