How Do Salt Lamps Work?

An ion is a molecule that carries a charge - which can be either positive or negative. Negative ions carry a negative charge and are beneficial to our health.  They act as 'Air Energizers' or as they are sometimes called 'Vitamins of the Air'.

Care of Salt Lamps

Salt has hygroscopic properties, which means it absorbs water from the surrounding atmosphere.  Therefore Salt Lamps should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens or other places where there is excessive moisture.

• Keep in a dry environment at all times

• Do not place outdoors

• Keep the lamp turned on for long periods of time, not only to enjoy the benefits of the negative ions, but also to dry any surface moisture.

• If the lamp is not to be used for long periods of time - cover with a polythene bag to prevent moisture absorption.

• To remove dust, use a DAMP cloth.
